A recent study sought to investigate the prognosis and impact of adolescent knee pain on health, care-seeking and career choices five years subsequent to diagnosis. In this population-based cohort of 2,200 adolescents aged 15-19 from 2011, 504 had reported knee pain on a monthly basis, and were evaluated along with 252 controls without knee pain.
