The GlomCon Foundation, American Kidney Fund, and IgA Nephropathy Foundation will collaborate to develop a consensus framework for Centers of Excellence in Glomerular Disease Care.
The framework will outline the infrastructure, clinical capabilities, research engagement, and patient support services required of a designated Center of Excellence. The goals of Centers of Excellence in Glomerular Disease Care will be to improve outcomes, foster clinical excellence, and accelerate research for individuals affected by rare and complex kidney diseases.
GlomCon has trained hundreds of nephrologists worldwide and helped establish a global network of glomerular disease clinics. The American Kidney Fund is a nonprofit organization that supports people with kidney disease in multiple ways and educates the public about rare kidney diseases. The IgA Nephropathy Foundation is the largest patient-led organization focused on IgA nephropathy and a prominent advocate for patients.
Findings from the three organizations’ collaboration are expected to be shared this fall.
