While technological literacy was a barrier for audiovisual calls, so was access to the internet or equipment capable of audiovisual encounters.

These technologies are making strides in early detection and prognosis of renal diseases, offering predictive insights that were previously unattainable. The use of AI and ML in individualized treatment planning can lead to improved patient outcomes and efficiency in care delivery. As this field matures, the need for nephrologists to acquire an understanding of AI and ML, their possibilities, and ethical considerations grows significantly.
Moving to administrative aspects, electronic health records (EHRs) have become an essential tool in nephrology practice management. Some of these systems have the potential to offer real-time, patient-centered records accessible to authorized users across the care continuum, aiding in coordinated and efficient care.
