According to a report by CNN Health, a large majority of English adults are at risk of stroke or cardiac arrest and that this population’s heart health is aging prematurely. This information came from the agency Public Health England (PHE), using information collected from its Heart Age Test.
According to the report, the reason for the premature heart ageing (among other reasons) are obesity, high blood pressure, and lack of exercise. The data from the Heart Age Test showed that 78% of over-30s who have taken PHE’s Heart Age Test have hearts that are older than they should be; in addition, 14% have hearts that are 10 years older than their actual age. These statistics are based on 1.9 million people who have taken the test.

The website where the Heart Age Test is located also provides information on how to make healthier decisions, as well as apps that can be downloaded for specific health goals, including “Active 10,” “Drink Free Days,” “Couch to 5K,” and more.
PHE continues to provide the Heart Age Test for free to reduce the number of people who die from vascular disease.
