The I-VT Score: Identifying Survival and Recurrence Risks for Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation

By DocWire News Editors - Last Updated: December 17, 2018

Researchers seeking to use the Survival Tree (ST) analysis method for the identification of risk groups for mortality and ventricular tachycardia (VT) recurrence in patients with several comorbidities. The study included 1,251 patients for whom a set of demographic, clinical, and procedural-related variables were evaluated. Using a log rank test, they survival time and time to VT recurrence were derived from ST analysis. The best predictors of VT recurrence, according to the authors, were (in hierarchical order) left ventricular ejection fraction, implantable cardioverter defibrillator/cardiac resynchronization device, and previous ablation. Left ventricular ejection fraction, previous ablation, and Electrical storm were seen as the best predictors of mortality.
