MARVEL-Evolve Analysis: Accelerometer-based Atrial Sensing Safe, Stable Over Time

By DocWire News Editors - Last Updated: February 1, 2019

This paper followed-up the MARVEL study, a single-timepoint accelerometer-based atrial sensing and whether or not it improved AV synchrony in patients with AV block and a Micra pacemaker. The cohort included nine patients from the MARVEL. The researchers reported that both accelerator-based atrial sensing signals amplitude and AV synchrony remained normal between clinic visits (P=0.740). The researchers concluded that “accelerator-based signals amplitude and performance of AV synchrony pacing were stable over time,” and that “the AV synchronous pacing mode behaved safely” during atrial arrhythmias.
