We spoke with Ajay Goel, PhD, AGAF, of City of Hope, on an investigational exosome-based liquid biopsy for the detection of early-stage pancreatic cancers.

As pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed only in later stages when it has metastasized, the liquid biopsy can provide earlier detection for those at high risk of the disease.

Dr. Goel discusses how his team’s liquid biopsy signature can be paired with CA19-9 to improve the accuracy of detecting pancreatic cancer, as well as the next steps to further refine the biopsy.
